2010 British Time Trial Championship

One half of Team Grumpy is organising this year's British Time Trialling Championship over in South Wales.  Of course this means the more web-savvy half of Team Grumpy has rashly volunteered with the website stuff.  Grumpy Bob leaves it to the reader to figure out who that is!

In any event, you can find out more about the course and how to enter at the Team Grumpy website.  To keep an eye on news relating to the event, and the web pages, you can follow the BTTC2010 Twitter feed.  An RSS feed will be set up shortly.

There are direct links to entry forms in PDF and MS Word formats.  Please note the entry fee is £15, and riders need to ensure they use the correct forms, and not the standard CTT entry form.

and we're flooded with entries. At this rate we might make double figures by the closing date - 7 August

Hi Team Grumpy - As we all know, time trials often start at unearthly hours in the morning but never having entered the BTTC before I am wondering if your HQ will be opening a little later in the day? I just need to know roughly (e.g. 6 a.m. or 2.p.m.) so I can figure out where to stay, might be camping it up.

Geoff - hopefully we'll get something on the BTTC2010 web pages about the event HQ later today.

Geoff,

The HQ will be at the Llandeilo Rugby Club in Carmarthen Road, Llandeilo. This is very near to the start (though a fair distance now from the new finish).
Opening time will depend on number of riders, but it won't be at an unearthly hour. The earliest I expect to start the event will be 9 am. The elites (men and women) will race in the afternoon, so I expect the whole event to go on until 5 pm (ish) by the time we've done awards etc.
There is actually a campsite right next to the HQ. The problem is that it is not yet complete and the toilet block is not in use yet. The owners, though, will entertain any bookings from those with camper vans or those in tents with own chemical loo.
Drop me a line if interested and I'll put you in touch with them.

Hi Bob & Art - Thanks for the info. - I don't have a chemloo but I have found there are plenty of places to stay nearby. Hope the rest of the organising etc. goes well - see you in Llandeilo!

Geoff,
The tourist board are going to provide information on accommodation very soon. But it seems that you have already sorted things out. It's all shaping up to be a great day (though my nerves might not last that long).
